Alexander Valley Film Society: global perspectives + local partnerships = education for all through film.
Overview
Joined the nonprofit’s board of directors to assist in strengthening and articulating the AVFS brand. Helped to develop organization’s mission statement, values and vision, and communications strategy; co-chaired Development Committee; seeded and started student educational fund; and was part of team to lead AVFS through a number of crises, including two wildfires and the Covid pandemic. AVFS has emerged as a leader in our community and across the industry, partnering with other nonprofits, government and community leaders, filmmakers, writers, teachers and activists to educate, engage, and empower students of all ages.
